Beebop The Island Hopper
It's here! The stuff of dreams, an entry for the epic Ludum Dare 17 has been made! For those who don't know it's a 48 hour game making competition which actually is pretty silly. Even more silly is my two hours of commitment yesterday but late this night at about 03:05 I am now, finally, writing this post! The theme was islands and this is what I came up with:

That was fun, I like how the tension builds as the player progresses. This was a nice way to break the concept down to the fundamentals. I like the visual elements but I think you could focus on the scene composition a bit. For example make the main character stand out more both in scale and contrast. I can see how this could be expanded on by adding more complex multi key manuevers for each level. I was also thinking maybe instead of the any key circle it would be could to have sharks or a storm.

Thanks for your ideas and I agree about the visuals. One thing I would want to experiment with would be key presses to music and as you say multiple keys.
